Parking light problems

I recently installed a compustar cm7200 in my 2014 Mazda Cx-5 and have an issue with the parking lights. My car will turn the headlights off after 30 seconds if you exit the vehicle with the switch still set to on. I've become used to doing this when it is dark outside, but I've noticed that the parking lights will not flash when unlocking with the compustar unit when the headlight switch is in the on position.

Is there a way around this?

Wondering if you have that switch moved from Auto or on as you have said, To off does your parking lights flash? Also when you remote start the Auto they should come on and stay on while the car is running? Does this happen?

Your Alarm brain has 3 Wires that could be used for Parking lights, 2 wires on (CN1) are dip(Jumper) controlled. The one that is set at factory as Parking lights is Green/White. However that can also be set up as Starter or Trunk. The second wire that could be set to parking lights is Blue and is set from factory as 12V+ Ign. I am just wondering if the person that installed it (If it wasn't you) used them as a different option that was needed for your Auto or because you requested it?

Or it could be the Green/White that is on Pin 17 CN5 this is a -250mv and is the one that I use while doing this install. It would work with the Lock, unlock and remote start. This wire would go to a Relay from the relay to the Parking light +12v to power the parking lights.

Second thing I am wondering does your Auto Trim give both Auto on/Off or just the Auto off? One of the reasons I ask is because it can lower your battery life with Remote start if your Headlights turn on everytime you remote start your Auto..

My sister has the M6 with Remote start and I called and asked her about how it is set up from factory. For her she said it is junk compared to the Viper I installed in her last car... Then she told me to check out the info online, So I did and here is what I found the remote start to say.

"Vehicles with Automatic Lights
● When vehicles equipped with automatic lights are set to the “AUTO”
position for the light switch, the lights turn on if the engine is started at night
with the remote control. However, if the engine automatically stops after
warming up, the lights will also turn off at the same time to prevent the
battery from draining. However, to avoid light interference, set the
automatic light switch to the “OFF” position when using the remote control
to turn on the engine at night."

I am not an Expert and Only offer information that may or may not help the OP. I am human and with that said can make Mistakes. At times I offer help from Memory and have found that with Age my memory isn't getting any better.

If you find something that helps with your problem and it wasn't listed here please leave the information for others that may have the same problem.

Hope this Helps some

With the switch set to off everything functions normally, which leads me to believe that they did set it up correctly. I had this installed as I wanted it done before the cold was over and I do not have a garage to work in. I'd have to dive in to see but I think they took the green/white from the brain and wired it like recommended on the Idatalink install guide, which has it wired with a relay to interrupt the second parking light wire on the vehicle.

So, assuming it is properly installed, is there a way to wire this to get it functioning short of going directly to the lights them selves? I know that the hazards still function when my parking lights do not. Is there a way to wire to that in order to get the unlock/lock flash?

I'm not worried about the lights during remote start, as my headlights turn on as soon as the car is powered.
