Polar 5304 remote starter questions
Hi,
I just purchased a 2003 Subaru Outback which came with a Polar 5304 remote starter. Locks are enabled. When I unlock I have to get in right away and start the car. If I delay for too long, the key will not start the car and I have to get out, lock the doors and start over. The previous owner said it has always been like this from new and is a security feature. I have had several remote starters over the years but never encountered this. I do not have the manual. Can someone explain the delay time and whether or not it is adjustable please? Also, any idea where I might find a manual to download? I should also mention that the remote starting works well and there are no surprises with it. Thanks in advance |
It is in passive arming starter kill mode. You can get a manaul at www.autostart.ca and look for as AS-4304. Its the same thing. There are good shops in your city, and any of them could help you out.

Thanks for your response.
I checked at the Autostart website as you suggested and was unable to find AS-4304 in the long list of downloads. I phoned them but after explaining my problem to someone there was put on hold for 20 minutes causing me to hang up the long distance call. Local dealers all want $75 minimum to help me out. I reckon it must be a sign of the times. I also need a second remote. The guy at Visions was the most help. He recommended that I purchase a new two way unit which comes with two remotes and installed will cost about the same as paying for a remote and the programming that I need for the polar starter! |
