Remote start problems
I don't know the model # of the Hornet alarm. The remote start isn't working properly and I can't seem to fix it. Basically, when I activate remote start, she either starts and then shuts off after a few seconds and restarts, or doesn't crank enough and starts on the second try, then shuts off and starts again. I've tried to do a "tach relearn" procedure by starting my truck and holding the valet switch, but the indicator light never lit up. Is there any other method I should be trying?

What your going to need to do is to find out what model of "Hornet" system you have. This is crucial. Holding the valet button down is not going to learn tach that puts the system into valet mode.

Thanks. I'm going to drop the dash once I get a chance and get the model # and report back. Hopefully we can get this sorted out. I'm going to pull all fuses too to reset the system because my battery drained a few weeks ago (I hear this can make an alarm system go rogue).

It may have a default of voltage sensing instead of using tach wire and maybe reset back to that when the battery died. Just a thought.
