Remote start trouble Viper 5706V

Hello,

I think I have the Viper 5706V installed with the smart start GPS on my 2014 Lancer Evolution X MR. I had it installed professionally by one of the viper dealers here in Los Angeles. I've had to go back to that shop a few times now because of various problems (kind of pissed off since I work full time and t rying to study for the MCAT).

I am currently having this issue with the remote start where if it won't start up the first time it won't try again. THe alarm "thinks" the car is on because when I check the remote and my smart start app status it says the engine is running, so the car will not try to crank again, instead the parking lights will be on, etc. I would have to press the remote start button again to turn the car "off" and then press it again to turn the car on, the car usually turns over the 2nd time around.

This issue i notice happens in the morning a few times. It has happened once at night after parking for 2-3 hours. But I haven't noticed this issue happening if I try to start it after coming out from work, usually the car will be parked for at least 10 hours in the garage. I am sure the car is getting signal in the morning because the car is parked outside and I am right next to it when parking.

These issues are kind of pissing me off, is this all the normal process of installing an alarm (me going back a few times)?

I'm not a pro but I have done 3 or 4 installs. To me, it sounds like a crank time issue or voltage sensing/tach wire issue. I would question why it's not starting on the first try. Afaik, if it's not starting on the first try 99% of the time, something is wrong.

it should start every single time. It could be a tach issue which is generally handled by the bypass module. If they used a canbus or data module thats defective, you would have this exact problem.
You should never have to visit the shop again for repairs if it was done correctly the first time.

btw, I installed audio/alarms/starters for years as a hobby prior to attending medical school. Take an mcat prep course!

fix for your issue!!

I know this is an old post but thought I'd try anyway in case your still having the Issue!! Personally Viper isn't my brand of choice but there's a Violet wire with a white stripe on it this wire needs to be connected to an injector pulse wire or ignition coil signal wire and then you'll have to download the install guide for the system you have to find out how to program tach!! If I remember right you push and hold the valet/ programming button while you start the car and don't release it until the status led comes on solid I think indicating it programmes reach successfully!! That should solve your problem!! If not have it removed and get them to put a Prestige APS997E in it and you won't have anymore issues!!
