doesn't the big window negate any security benefits...not to mention the safety aspect. Should you be unconscious in your car, it'd be hard to get you out in a hurry...particularly if your car is on fire. Don't think it can't happen or it's very rare, I've personally pulled 2 guys out of their cars after bad accidents...on separate occasions. I can't imagine how I'd have gotten either out if the door handles weren't there. Unfortunately, one died of his injuries, but the other is fine and a friend now. In his case, my quick removal of him from the car prevented severe burns as his car was on fire and engulfed by the time the fire department arrived. Just something to think about.

What, a shaved door handle has nothing to do with security. A small chunk of porcelein is going to take out a window nice and quiet and no shaved doorhandle is going to help. I know that here in BC it is illegal and chances are that it is there as well. In the event of a accident, now the rescuer can't get the door open.

I laugh when people say people wont be able to get you out with shaved handles. Most newer vehicles automatically lock the doors when you start driving, so a handle on the outside isn't going help any.
As far as getting locked out with a dead battery, just make sure you have a power point you can get to from the outside to supply power to your doors if that should happen. Not that big of a deal seeing as you are likely going to have to boost the car anyways.
The only other failures you could have are a dead solenoid, relay, wiring problem or dead batteries in the remote. As long as you think about what you are doing when you install it you will be problem free.
Don't do it if you are planning on driving it in the winter, it will be a bitch to open a frozen door without a handle to pull on.
