Everyone hates getting their sterio stolen... right!!!??
Please post what measures you've taken, other than an alarm, to make it near impossible for them to take your ****.. I know if they really want it they can get it... but I plan on making it pretty tough. thanks |
Here's what I did. A few weeks after my stereo got jacked I decided to wait untill the next windy, rainy night and park my car outside of my garage again. (by this time i would have replaced my stereo right?) Well no there was nothing in my car, but knowing that these pricks would be back i decided to wait outside incase they came back they would get to meet my buddy Louisville. Needless to say they didnt come back and i just got soaked but i figured it was a good idea.

I'm thinking razor blades underneath everything. mounted out of sight, but still in a good position to cut ppl

Ya I want to do the razor blade thing, but isn't that illegal. Can’t the guy stealing your stereo charge you? O wait I get it, if he goes to the cops and says some thing he gets caught. So either way he learns his lesson. O and strip your screws and then put glue in them. I know it will be a pain to get the stuff out, but well worth it. If it means you can keep your stuff. Lets see what else can I remember. Get an alarm, and have a back up horn installed (so you have two horns incase one goes). Turn your wheels so that if they try to tow it away then it is harder for them to do so.

yeah... I've heard that razor blade thing before too... but where do you mount them... and how?
also... does bolting them under the trunk work well? anything else |
I think there is a thread similar to this in the stolen section.
1) dont put a bunch of fancy decals/stickers on the car. 2) lock your doors (obvious) 3) glue and a welder are your best friend. you can never have something to secure, thiefs will unlikely bring a cutting wheel to cut the weld or a heater to soften the glue. 4)in addition to screwing in your sub to the box, use some sort of sealant so even if they take out the screws they cant get the sub without the box. 5) dont go bragging about your nice system to everyone, the more that know, the more will steal. 6) use heavy equipment, thiefs are lazy, they are unlikely to steal a 50lb sub. 7) put the car in the garage....(obvious) |
Ya the night my stuff got stolen. I had an open place in the garage, but I couldn’t get to it because my grandpa’s truck was in the way and I didn’t have the keys

I know how you feel. I live 10km from the nearest city so I thought that if I left my car outside for the night it should be fine. I get ready to go to school, walk outside and my drivers door is open. I walk up and I see a bunch of cut cable laying on the ground from inside my car. My amp, subs, deck, speakers, box were all stolen. I will never park my car outside overnight again if I can avoid it.

Never do the razorblades, if anyone has to work on your car, ESPECIALLY MURLEY, there will be big trouble.

I use security screws on everything, they cost alot but they're well worth it. They need a special bit that must be ordered as well.
I also don't **** in my own backyard...ie...When getting fairly close to home, or my final destination, I tone/turn it down. ;) |
