Which system should I purchase
 

I have a 2005 Ford Taurus SE.

The car was broken into while parked in my driveway early Thursday morning (12/27/12).

I would like to install a simple, dependable system that will arm and disarm with a one way remote and monitor current change so that if the door is opened while armed, the system will sound the horn.

I don't think I need a sensor for movement or vibration or an engine cut-out.

The vehicle has power door locks but is not set up for remote control. If it is straightforward and will not affect the original operation of the door locks, I may be interested in controlling them with the remote.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to manufacturer and model that will satisfy my concerns with a good quality, dependable system.

40 views and no replies. I've read descriptions and reviews of a bunch of systems, but there is so much out there it's overwhelming. And I have no idea which units are good quality or which may be easier to install. I don't want to buy something too complicated and pay for features I won't use, but I'm willing to pay a fair price for a robust, dependable system. If you have experience that can help, please share.

Is one more compatible with the Ford Taurus? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Well I ended up installing an Avital 3100 by Directed Electronics.

The price was reasonable and the installation guide was easy to follow.

I did diode isolate the four door triggers.

Everything works exactly as it should and I'm pleased with the results.

I took my time and soldered and taped all the connections.

It took me the whole morning, so almost five hours.

I could never make a living being so slow, but I'm happy.

Problems with right alarm is that none of them really work in action. Thief will only go for easy pick I Mean for job what he can do I know a_ few really good thieves and first what they do is basically they steal your alarm before they starting to work on actual car I've built my own alarm it is not attached to a car it is trigger alarm inside my property its something like thief trap because from my knowledge you rather do not try to interfere in persons when they work they really tough and your alarm should not put you into dangerous situations.
