Viper 5000 Question - Light Flash

Upon arming / disarming, the head / tail lights no longer flash. The backlight on my tach gauge also does not light up anymore. This would also flash upon arming / disarming. I am assuming the two are related and the issue is not a bulb.

Any thoughts on what may be causing this? The alarm still functions perfectly and has for 3 years. No additional mods either. This just started a couple nights ago?

Thanks,
Jeff

You have a blown fuse.
Either the park light fuse itself, or the fuse for the alarm park lights.

I couldn't find a red fuse on the alarm brain. Just two blue fuses attached to wire connectors that were not blown. Is there somewhere else to look or am I missing it? It's tough to see up in the dash. Also, all the 10 amp red fuses both under the hood and in the kick panel seem to be fine.

The fuse will be on a white wire or in the brain, depending on when the alarm was made.

if you found two blue fuses then someone has changed out one of the fuses on the alarm... hummm now iam curious as to whats going on with that system.

That makes two of us! The original install was done by a shop I have full confidence in (Langlois Sound), but it has been worked on and shifted around. I had a couple pieces added on a while back by another shop (Pearl Autocare) near my work that I should have never let touch my car.

I am through messing with it as I don't want to exacerbate any problems. I am scheduling some face time with the guys who do all my 12V work to do some troubleshooting and a sanity check. I shall keep you all posted.

Found it. It was inside a little compartment at the end of the brain. Tiny red fuse, toasted.

In your experience with these, what could cause such failure?
