Compustar has never failed me...
I've owned both ;) |
On my original Viper has been through 2 trucks, never a glitch. Only downside is they are tougher to buy if you want to do your own install. They are only suppose to be sold with installation to get warranty.

Compustar has a lifetime warranty. They do their research & development in Alaska, so it can handle the cold. I've sold thousands of them. The failure rate is below 5%, minus the recall (which they took care of right away and reimbursed me for).
I got rid of Viper years ago. |

I got rid of Viper years ago. as an installer, i have used the entire DEI line, autopage, audiovox, and compustar. All the brands listed are great units.i have used both compustar and DEI. DEI definitely made great units but when they released the first gen responder LE, i had too many problems and just got fed up. overall, i always preferred the compustar and pushed to sell that more often than DEI products. I have yet to have a defective unit come across my installs (knock on wood) i have one installed in my sisters car (first gen 2way) and its still going strong  |
