Stealth anti-theft device doesn't work
When I bought my 2008 Kia Spectra in Maryland, I had a Stealth anti-theft device installed. This was necessary to import the car into Canada, where I now live. The problem is that the device is very unreliable (that is, the car won't start), and it needs to be removed. The company that made the system - Stealth - has gone out of business.
l think the car's starter has quit working, but the local Kia dealership in Ottawa says they can't diagnose the problem because their diagnostic system won't work if the flawed anti-theft device doesn't work. They say that the anti-theft device is too deeply embedded in the electrical system and it can't be removed.
Any suggestions for removing a Stealth anti-theft device, or otherwise resolving this problem?
