Maybe it's just me, but I tried to list something in the classifieds as "new" and it kept showing up as "Condition-used" in the preview.....

I have no idea why that would come up. Hopefully one of the mods help out on this one!

 

There was a dispute about the whole "New" condition and maybe the mods just made it so everything comes up as used? Cause if your not a retiler then it is technicly "used" because you do not sell with a waurenteer.

When you buy something with no guarentee or no waurentee then I would consider it "used" even if it hasnt been used because it loses value.

 

Well that's stup!d IMO, since every classified in the world has new and used items on the site ... that's just the nature of a classified.
But then again, if it deters idiots posting "New" items all over the place, then fine ... do it, I don't care.

I just don't want to have one user with 6 ads and they are all "New" ... that's a bunch of crap that they're even on here.

 

Thats what I think the mods are trying to stop on here.

Someone bitched about the classifieds on here. And how they are not moderated and how things come up "New" and then the people say "Ya I only used it a few times"
I wouldnt consider anything "New" unless I was buying from a retailer or distributer or a store.

 

Best to post this type of stuff in the mod section so we can look at it before the conspiracy theorists get a whiff of it.

Could just be a quark with the script, it is 100% custom written and not something you just buy at walmart

No, whatever has taken place is not something anyone has imposed on the user knowingly, likely a glitch when using preview.

*tested it myself.. i found the way to reproduce it, appears to be a glitch.

Don't take what people say as gospel on a forum, especially when it comes to the coding of this site. Perhaps it was misleading that a moderator posted the issue publicly before showing me. Its 1am, it wont be looked at until some point later today now or even this week when time frees up.

The feature is supposed to allow for NEW, heck, theres a ton of posts that are listed as new, not sure why its bugging out now.

I havent seen that issue brought up anywhere. Not in pms or in the mod section. If it was and I knew there was a hiccup with the software, I would work on sorting it out.

I will see what we can do.
