So what are you suggesting, that people signed up FOR the contest?
So, if that's the case, wouldn't this be a good promo? I mean, I agree with you, you should have to be a supporting (posting) member on the site to participate, just like you can't reply until that time, but in all honesty, this site needs publicity so ... why not have it open, even to newbies.

You didn't win, I didn't win, a lot of people didn't win.
Enter another contest, maybe you'll win tickets to see Date Night.

i think thats the problem, they signed up for the contest, and only that reason. I have however figured out how to increase my chances for the next giveaway and let the rest of my multiple personalities get their own accounts too.

I often think giveaways should only be for subscribers.

Some giveaways, yes ... all of them? Probably not.
I see forums that have different giveaways all the time.

100 posts or more ... and newbies.
You should be rewarded sometimes too.

I honestly don't know of another forum who gives stuff away to their members on a regular basis. Especially something this cool/expensive.

If anyone can find a forum that has a better method then please point me in their direction because I'd like to find out of something more appropriate.

Steve Meade Design forum has something called, SOTM (system of the month)

There are certain guildlines to the contest, and if your build fits it, you are entered. Then the forum itself will vote

They give away high end amplifiers, Alternators, and other VERY HIGH PRICE items.

Meaning you have to fit within certain guidelines... so not available to all members.

Also, this is a voting process - which we all know is effectively a popularity contest... again, not a give away as we do it.

Right

the subscriber thing makes sense, but I think I have a resolution to this whole thing.

the next giveaway and other giveaways thereafter...give the prize to me
