Being told I cant install system in my truck

Hi all. New to the forumz, so this is my first post. Im having a problem. I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 High Country with the Bose sound system. I am being told that if I want to keep my OEM head unit , I cant install a new system. They said they cant pull the Bose because it is somehow integrated and will not work without getting a new head unit. I was planning on installing an entirely new system complete with DSP. They also mentioned the left front door speaker would create problems as it is the "chime" and bluetooth speaker. They advised they could move it and "bypass" it, but I would lose my fade. Is this making any sense? Im confused as hell. They claimed they were having similar problems with Ford vehicles, but they have an adapter now. There is no adapter for Chevrolet vehicles. Can anyone advise me of what I can do? I just want a new system, but want to keep my factory receiver.

Why dont you just add a line converter get an amp and some subs and keep the rest factory?

I'm being told its not possible. The head unit is supposedly "ratioed" to the Bose system. Apparently it is made as one complete system that cant be altered.
