capacitor amp problems please help

capacitor amp problems please help

so i have a jl audio 500/1 amp, and a power acoustics 2 farad cap. so i installed the cap and every thing propley and the amp will not power on? the cap is charged and the amp works fine so i don't know whats wrong??

please help thanks

is there voltage at the cap? and just not the amp?

Matt, you don't need a cap on that amp anyways, as it uses Jl audio's Rips system which is made to make the same power from 11-14 volts so there is no need for the cap, so get rid of it and sell it to someone else!

caps are not even recommended for use with that amp.. heres a link...

Caps a marketing gimic to the daily driver in my opinion. Just buy a decent battery, and you'll be fine.

I have a cap! it holds down the side table by my computer desk.... i should make the display light up just so it adds to the feel of my living room..... ha!

Really? I keep mine in my back-pack and have my mp3 player hooked up to it. It's the biggest kind of battery I could find.

hahahhah i wonder if i can wire it into my iPod.... mount it in the center console, people be all like damn thats a clean cap install, id be like uhuh thats my ipod battery!
