Connecting 2 100 rms speaker to a 300rms watt amp

hi, I would like to know if I can connect 2 100 watt rms car speakers ( total 200 watt rms ) to a 300 watt rms amp. Is there a way I can lower the power on the amp so I don't damage the speakers?

thanks
chris

What's the name and model of the amp and speakers?

To answer your question, yes you can lower the power by turning the gain or level down on the amp.

the amp is :Kenwood Kac-8105D 1000-Watt Class D Mono Amplifier
the Details are here :

and the speakers are :JBL GTO938 6 x 9-Inch 3-Way Loudspeaker

The details are here:

Also how would I connect the speakers to that amp.

thanks

That amp is a 1 channel amp, and is used for subwoofer.

You need a 2 channel amp with a power rating around 100 watts rms per channel for those speakers.

You can use it, but your music will be playing in mono not stereo.

You have to wire the speakers in series to get a 4 ohm load and adjust your input sensitivity (gain) on the amp to reduce the power. Read up on how to set your gain with a dmm (google).

Google is your friend.

The answer is NO, do NOT run those speakers off of that amplifier.

Not to chide in without actually helping but why in gods name would you install a stereo without at least learning the basics? Mono means both channels have the same signal input. Stereo is left and right (Two input channels) and I'm in with Dukk on this one. Monoblocks are for subs.
