Creative, but difficult

Hey guys,
I was thinking, is it possible to hook up an amp and sub to your computer? I mean, I can see how the rca's would attach. But here's the hard part, how would you be able to convert 120v outlet to 12v to used for the amp?
Is there such a thing you could attach to the amp to be able to plug it into a wall and not **** the amp up.

Let me know. I really want this to happen.

Thanks

You need a power supply. They are a little expensive, probably $150 and up. You could use a computer power supply, because it does have a 12v rail, but good luck with that. Depending on the amp you want to run, you would need a big one.

why not just use an amp that was made to run on 120V?

Better yet buy a powered HT subwoofer. Much cheaper in the long run.
