Dead Short In Unknown Area

Hey everyone I've ran into a problem and i don't know how to resolve it so i came to the internet for answers, hopefully someone can help me.To make a long story short a couple weeks ago i blew my amp(mtx thunder elite 1500 watts) so i took it to a professional to have it fixed which he did and he tested it for 6 hours and it worked flawlessly, i got it back yesterday and hooked all the wires and everything back up to it in correct order and in the correct terminals, As soon as i turned the ignition on i heard the subs crackle and then the amp started rollin out the smoke so after i cut the power to it i took it apart and its fried. It seems like i have a dead short somewhere and im not to sure how to tell where it would be coming from at first i thought it might be a bad sub so i unscrewed both them out of the box and tested the impedance with a multimeter and they both read 1.7 ohms(there wired in parallel) does anyone have any suggestions on what else to check, im going to buy a new amp but don't want it to blow as soon as i turn the ignition on like the other one.

MTX's site doesn't show the 1500watt amp anymore. The one Thunder Elite they do show is only rated down to 2ohms (pretty typical for MTX) so that may be your problem.

its an older amp like 3 or 4 years mtx doesent make them any more and i had it wired to 2 ohms

...they both read 1.7 ohms(there wired in parallel)...
The way I read that is you have two woofers, each at 1.7ohms, wired in parallel to the amp. That is a 1ohm (or less) load for the amp.

No I put that wrong, i have two 4 ohm subs wired in parallel so that's why they are both now at 1.7

How would I check that? When I push the subs down there is no grinding at all
In either ones
