Deck cuts out on loud bass

my head unit is turning off and restarting itself (and if I don't turn it down) will keep restarting.

My amp, sub, speakers are brand new. The amp is 600w the 12 is 900w max 300rns...my head unit I got from a freind he had it in his old rx7 and it was good deck, he sold the car gave deck to me..as far as I know it has no problems, and it works fine as long as the music isnt BUMP BUMP.

I want bump bump...I'm thinking it's a ground issue as my deck restarts (turns off and on) and my amp does not...anyone else say it's a ground issue ?? Thanks,
Mike.

If the deck shuts off, it should shut the amp down if the remote is set up correctly.
Yes, it could be a loose ground. Or power wire, bad connection somewhere.
Or it could be voltage dropping low enough that the unit shuts down.

Some head units are much more sesitive than others to vibration, but usually it skips the CD, not shut itself down.

I'd use a volt meter and watch what happens when and where.

Good Luck!!

600W to a 300W sub. Check the battery terminals to see if they're loose, I had the same problem. I'd restart the deck and everything would be fine, actually it'd restart itself. Check the grounds and stuff with a VM.

of course the amp would cut out if the deck restarts, I'm stupid for saying it didn't.. kinda goes hand in hand, haha.

Could it be that my battery cannot take the amount of power my amp is drawing ?

should I buy a capacator ?

I'm running an old 1986 jetta (LOL) kinda wack but I need my bass.

Replace fuse on power lead, add your own ground for deck, then go from there, even tho the fuse may look good, doesent mean it is.
My guess tho is a free deck is a deck lol

Thanks on that, as much as I want to think its as easy as the deck, me think not, it wasnt free, I paid money and it was used from freind...

I will check fuse on power lead, what would be the power lead? The battery to deck? Im new to this, sorry...I have not added own ground from head unit at all, I will do that, pretty straightforward I'm guessing? theres only one ground for head unit correct?

I was playing around and I found the problem to not be with amp or sub, whenever it's loud , front and bac speakers will cut off, if I push it, the speakers will not only cut off, but so will head unit....Im hoping making my own ground will fix this prob, I heard attaching to the - on battery is a sure fire...?

Naw just ground to metal under dash somewere, forgot to mention shorted out speaker wires( touching eachother or maybe pinched and grounding out) will cause deck to cut out.
Power lead is batt to deck, ya and btw you said in your first post that your friend sold the car and "gave" the deck to you, sorry had to be lol.
