Deck Shut Off Help!

Deck Shut Off Help!

hi, i have a buick lesabre. i had an aftermarket deck in it already, i was driving and hit a pot hole. the deck shut off and I HAVE NO SOUND . i bought a new deck and its the same deal, non funtional. there is power getting to the deck but it wont turn on, just the status light is on. is there any problems like this related to a 1992 buick lesabre. thanx

do you have power at the batt + and ign switched positive?

unless it got knocked off when i went over the pot hole then yes i do, is it common for it to get kncoked off?

I wouldnt think so with a good connection,but maybe a fuse went? thats what im thinking.

im pretty sure all of my fuses are good, there is power getting to the deck, but there is no display or sound

I would check the fuses,you could have a bad fuse on the switched ignition source, Thats the best advice i can give ya.

I would pull the deck and test the leads with a dmm or a test light,whatever you got.

is there a fuse in the deck or at the deck
you can look for a bad wire too
start at the battery and go over your set up (a bad clamp on the battery could be the start )
i think a bad wire typ hit a neg some where and popped the fuse at the deck/in the deck

Check both car fuses, and deck fuses.
Check for solid ground, and a solid +12v lead, and connection.
Check your Alt. Remote. for a solid +12v lead when ignition is on, and solid connection.
