Dual 6ohm into a 2 ohm stable amp

I have an MTX 895.5, subchannel is 2 ohm stable rated at 460 watts which I'm currently running a Maw-12 DVC4 through.

Can I run a DVC 6 wired to 3ohms without issue? If the sub is rated at 500rms, will I be providing it enough or not enough power. Will I be hurting my amp?

Can you wire it to 3 Ohms without issues - Yes

Will you be providing it "enough" power - sure... you won't damage it from under powering. You just won't be getting it's full potential.

Will you be hurting your amp - Not at all. Nothing says you HAVE to run it at its lowest rated impedance ;)

if anything running your amp at 3ohms rather then 2 will help your amp last longer because of less stress.
thats just my opinion though.
