Get more bass...

Hey guys n gals - I have a quick question. Obviously the easiest solution to my problem is get a bigger better amp, and a bigger better sub. however, Im poor and need a more specific solution..

Heres what ive got - 4 aftermarket MTX 65w mids, 1 10" mtx 150W, 350w peak sub, @ 4 ohm.. Kicker impulse ix404 amp, @ 40w x 4.

Obviously, right off the bat, my system is hugely under powered. especially since im running all 5 of those speakers off the one amp.

At about a mid volume, everything is great. clear, HUGE bass, shakes the car.. nice. At high volume, everything goes up, but the bass remains at the same level it was at mid volume. Is that a simple cause of under powering? would the best bet be just buy a second amp for the bass alone, seperate from the mids?

yes lol get a nice little amp for it and it will be alot better... even for the little power you have

is the box ported or sealed???

This box is sealed - I hear porting gets rid of a lot of the punch..?

i ran sealed for a couple of years now and i just made myself a ported and it bangs alot more than sealed lol ( you can feel the wind hahahaha ) but it depends if the sub is capable to go ported. not all of them can
