Question Head Unit with HDD

Researching for a Head Unit that has USB with the ability to upload to a HDD?

I have recently purchased the 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee and would like to replace the factory head unit and 6 speakers with stock sizes to minimalize any modifications to the dash or door panels.

Any suggestions for such a head unit would be greatly appreciated. No Navigation required just high quality sounds with HDD.

the only units I'm aware of that have HDD's built in that do not have Nav are made by Sony, so not worth their weight in dog leavings. I'd just look into something like a Pioneer(premiere) 6900(690 is premiere model). You can grab them up on good deales at most shops since they are being replaced pretty soon. They have a great display, tons of features, good EQ and crossovers, and the USB port is at the rear and they give you a 3 foot USB extension so you can just leave the USB stick in your glove box.

I'm in the same situation myself. This should help ..... http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36147

That's not me posting, but I am on that forum and that guy knows his stuff. I plan on doing the same thing myself. I just need to decide on the head unit.

Also, pay attention to size restrictions - some head units can handle bigger HDDs than others. Check the manufacturer's owner's manuals for this info.

Good luck and keep us posted.

The Eclipse will offer better tonal response over the Pioneer Premiere. The Kenwood Excelon will offer better performance over the Pioneer Premiere as well. The Pioneer Premiere will offer a superior price point over the Eclipse and Kenwood Excelon. I have all in stock and all on sale.
