head unit rebooting

yes i know it may not be the best mix but cant afford alot so have picked this stuff up here and there. I have 2 kenwood KFC x172 excelons in the front doors, i have 2 premium speakers from a dodge neon in the rear(6x9)(they actually sound pretty good and so far have handled the abuse, had a set of pioneers and these actually sound better), 2 10" alpine VR 10 subs powered by a sherwood scp-1002 4 channel amp, all controlled by my jvc kd sc500 head unit.

When listening to cd's i can get to 23 on the volume but then the head unit reboots, I can get it higher if i change my fade all the way to the rear or to the front but maybe to 24 or 25. when listening to radio i can get higher but depends on type of music and how clear the station comes in but i would say about 30 is max. Am i drawing to much power?(lights do not flicker) do i have a bad ground?(have searched for one to no avail) any solutions??????

I had this sytem in my dodge neon and it worked fine, if anything i could only get it so loud because of distortion, but ended up scrapping that car and put it into a 97 cavalier and now i am having this issue.

What kind of car is this?

First thing I would try is replacing the ground. Run a new wire from the deck down to somewhere that you can screw it to the chassis.

^Def make a new ground. Are the dodge 6x9s 2ohm or 4ohm speakers. You could have a minor speaker wire ground out, but on a JVC this usually only shuts off the internal amp.
