HELP with battery problems

HELP with battery problems

i have a full fusion sysytem..... i didnt have a capacitor so i bought a 5 farad Soundstream capacitor, we hooked it up and it pretty much kills my batery, when i shout of the truck the deck still has a dim light in it and every 5 seconds the subs pulse. if anyone noes what mioght be wrong could ya help me out.

Did you hook up the cap in series or in parallel?

not to sure to tell you the truth, its just behind the seat, with power wire from the battery going into it, and then from another termanal is the power wire going to the amp, and then theres a ground...... not sure if that helped.
