High-pitched noise with lights on

Hi guys !

I just changed my old Pioneer for a new JVC KD-AVX2 in my 95 Del Sol, and there's a strange, very high-pitched noise, that comes on whenever I light up either my dash board or my driving nights... The noise comes off when the lights are on "OFF" ! It's higher-pitched than an alternator-noise, and does not change in intensity when I'm driving. It's present, whether or not the engine is running... I double-checked my ground, it seems fine (?) Could it be possible that both my radio and my lights share the same ground ??? Do you guys have any ideas what to do ? My local car audio install shop can't seem to find the answer too, that's why I'm asking on this forum ! Well, they say it's the radio's fault...

Your opinion ? Thanks a lot for helping me out !

i recall reading some1 having not same issue but same sound and the deck was defective. i had a problem myself where ground was the problem but i have a speaker amp so its a lil different then ur problem as well.

why dont you try to put in another deck same as yours in and see if issue presists? is that possible?

^ thats actually a fairly common problem with Honda, (the dimmer switch noise). as the pitch would change when you turn it from bright to dim also. But usually if you leave it all the way up..... its quieter.

you might want to run the deck's signal wires away from the dimmer if possible, and playing with the ground would help too (ground at different points & isolate rca from the chassis ground etc).

Re:

Hi ! Thanks for the tips, I'll try to move the RCAs to the passenger side... And try again to ground the deck elsewhere. I'll let you know !
BTW : it was much less annoying with my old Pioneer, but still was present, so I don't think the problem is the new JVC... And I do have a speaker amp, so I have no signal wires running from the deck directly to the speakers...

Is the deck connected to the car's illumination wire? If yes, maybe there is something goofy with your car's illumination circuit. Try disconnecting the illumination wire and hear what happens.
