how to tune stereo
#2
Are you sure its not a MP822 kenwood deck? I owned one..
here is how i would do it with your current setup..
turn off ther LOUD Feature..
Connect amplifier to the subwoofer output..
Set the subwoofer Crossover on the deck to 120hz
Set the other crossover at 100hz
Set the NF to about +7
Connect your woofers either @ 4ohm or 1ohm if the amp is stable..
set your gains low on the amp (Both level and bass)
Use a store boughten cd in ( Burnt media is normally derived from 128/196bps and is never a even level from track to track.)
Start playing a track - adjust volume to about 28 of 35 (less if this starts distorting your system)
Turn your amp Gain up while watching your woofers - you want to bring the gain up untill the woofer start to loose control, then back off about an 1/8th of a turn to be safe..
Now use your bass control and adjust acording to what you hear and like for a setting..
This should about do it.. I can effectivly turn my mp822 to volume 30/31 with no distortion and just plain loud..
If you want to mellow out the bass - turn the NF down as this is your SW Level.. you can turn it right off by holding one of the buttons on the display (Handy when little ones are in the vehicle)
Hope this helps
