JBL BPX 500.1 problem...

well, the amp got a bit wet while i was drivin home. started turning off and on and making the subs pop.

what happens:
power to the amp
5 seconds later, the protect light comes on, and the amp shuts off
half a second later, the amp gets power again
5 seconds later, the protect light comes on, and the amp shuts off
(this happens 5 times)
then the amp turns on again
then the I-E OPT light comes on, the amp turns off and the protect light comes on again.

so yea. the thing is screwed right now. im pretty good at fixing stuff, but i dont know where to start with this... anyone else have similar problems with their BPX 500.1?

Let it dry out for a few days - Maybe take it out of the car and tilt it on it's side to make sure no water is pooling somewhere - how the hell did you get water on it?

my truck's rear cab seal lets a bit of water in when it rains. this soaked my carpet. i had the amps on the carpet, and when i got home, i took the amp out, and it was a little bit moist underneath. i took it apart, and nothing was wet or looked damaged or anything, so i put it back together, and it still does the same thing.

send er back to JBL or cut your losses - First thing I would do is go To apple Auto Glass and get that rear window fixed unless you like replacing amps every rain fall! Good Luck
