My new Camero

I'm setting up a bunch of equipment from an old car and some new stuff into my 2013 Camero. I have a couple of questions;

Is a power distributor going to be okay with only a 4 gauge going into it and 2-4 gauge wires coming out? Or should I reduce the smaller (800watt) amp for the mids and highs to an 8 gauge so it gets less power? The amp is going to have to be turned down so I don’t blow the speakers anyways.

In order to wire two 12’s that are dual voice coal speakers down to 1 OHM a series approach (+’s all attached to one amp output and –‘s attached to one). The amp is setup to handle 1 OHM?

Do I need to worry about my cars alternator with the 2 fairly high powered amps (1800watt max at 1 OHM and 800watt max at 4 OHMs)?

I have it all drawn out in a diagram but I cant figure out how to post it.

First, what is this CamEro thing you speak of? :)

The model of amps would help. Max numbers don't mean much. Model or at least RMS output would be better.

What ohm are your subs? If they are dual 4ohm ......

You do not limit the power going to an amp by making the wire gauge smaller.

Wire gauge depends on your system and should be fused to protect the wire. If your total draw does not exceed the capability of one run of 4 gauge, then you will be fine.

Here is some good reading for you. Check out fuses, wire, speakers ......... It will get you off to a good start.

The 1800 watt kenwood is a KAC-9104d
I will look at the other amp when I get home today.
It is a low end amp and it use to run the 12s in my old car but I wanted something bigger for the new car (lol on the spelling) it has a high and a low pass filter. Should I just sell it and get a smaller amp for the miss and highs?

Thanks for the chart the other one I saw had the voice coal attached to each other - to - and + to + on the same speakers. I like this way better it is cleaner. They are dual voice coal 4ohm speakers

They have a custom box for the camaro. It makes it very clean. I just purchased the last thing I need the internal speakers, so I will be going to my buddy's shop with in the next week or so to do the full installation.

I'm using the stock stereo so I don't lose the navigation and other stuff that the sterio does. Showing AC setting and stuff. I found a piece that goes between the car and the sterio to give me a remote wire and front and back rc jacks.

I will post pictures as the installation goes on
