Need help with Shaker SKA800 amp specs

I am new to forum discussion and this is my first ever post on a forum ever. I have tried to look for the specs for my Shaker SKA800 in the internet and I just could not find any. I was hoping that someone would know about this amp. I have posted pics for this amp. Thanks |
I think that's a 20A fuse in there. Might be a 30A, too bright to tell. Someone more educated that I should be able to give you a guesstimate as to how much power than amp is capable of.
I spent a few minutes Googling this amp, but have come up with as much as you have. Nada. |
It is a 20 amp fuse. Thanks for trying. I have never had an item I cannot find in the net.

2 channel amp by the looks of it and with a fuse that small it is more than likely going to be rated at about 30w x 2 rms or somewhere around the 100w x1 rms mark.

Must be an oldie. Its obviously a two channel amp, that can be bridged into mono for subwoofer operation. It might give you around 100W hundred watts of power, maybe, with a 4 ohm load put on the bridged channels.
What do you plan to do with it? Just curious. |
Thanks for the info. I have actually had it running on a 10" kicker DVC 07cvr102 and I have cranked the volume up and the bass is so clear. Can't believe this Shaker can produce such clear bass at a high level. I guess old school amp is still the way to go. I was planning on replacing it with a newer amp but I have not decided yet pending if I can get any info on this Shaker that I have.

I have just found one item about this same amp in the net from someone in Ontario selling his and according to his info his amp (same model as mine) has 150W rms and peak is 800W.

The 800W value is likely a fabricated 'spec'. I'm fairly certain that its physically impossible for an amp with a 20A fuse to produce 800W for a sustainable amount of time.
Someone should say if this is wrong or not. I'm just trying to back myself up. This is quoted from another forum. Efficiency. Here's where you will be able to tell a decent manufacturer from the crap. Let's say you are looking at an 250 watt (RMS) amplifier. The first physical thing I look at, is how big a fuse do they recommend (or what size fuse is in the end of the amp)? I know right now that 250 watts OUT will demand (and I use 50% efficiency to keep it simple) 500 watts in. 500 watts in, divided by the (car running) battery voltage (14.4v) is about 35A. If I look at the end of the amp, and see a 20A fuse, I'm walking away, as there is no way that amp can make 250 REAL watts, continuously. 14.4v times 20A, equals 280 watts in. 250 watts out, divided by 280 watts in, translates to an 89% efficiency. In a class A/B amp, this is an impossible number, and it even stretches the imagination for digital amps, as well. The theoretical MAXIMUM efficiency for class A/B is 66%, (95% for digital) so someone is lying. |

I am sure u are tight on this. I never believe on the peak watts anyway. Thanks for the heads up. I still wish there is an actual spec for this amp. Makes it harder to sell too. |
I forgot one thing. I just saw an identical amp in a swap shop the other day. I could not believe my eyes but the case the color and where the connectors are are all identical to my amp. The diff is that this amp I saw was called Precision Audio then I guess the model is called Hot Shot. The only thing diff is that this amp has the connector for the Hi input whereas mine was just a slot with no connector in it. I tried to google this new name too but came up blank as well.
