Need help with wiring subs

Okay, so i have two Boston G5's. One is a dual 2 ohm and the other is a single 4 ohm. With the dual 2 ohm i can move the fuses to make it a single 8 ohm. Can i wire the single 8 and single 4 to my amplifier without damaging anything? and if so what will i damage? i have an Alpine mrp m1000 amplifier that can be wired down to 2 ohms and i am wanting to wire them both up instead of just one. Any help would be awesome.

Can i have some help guys? i can't figure this out.. is it bad to have two subs with different ohms going to a mono channel amp? could i run the power of one sub off of the other sub and use it that way?

If one sub is a dual 2 ohm then the only possible methods of wiring it are in series to 4 ohm or parallel to 1 ohm. Confirm the model # on the sub.

Rob is correct. If the dvc sub really is two 2 ohm coils then you would be best to wire the dvc in series and then wire the two subs in parallel. This will give your amp a final load of 2 ohms. Make sure of everything before you do this.

here is what it looks like.. Boston g5 dual 2 ohm sub image by opter1 on Photobucket .. So you're saying i can put both of the fuses back in to make it a dual 4 again? or should i keep it single 8 ohms for now? if i put it back to dual 2 ohm will i damage anything like either of the subs or the amplifier?

That is a dual 4 ohm sub, not a dual 2 ohm. You will only be able to wire it as an 8 ohm sub if you intend to connect both subs to your amp. This is the only way to ensure nothing is damaged. If I were you I'd get another svc 4 ohm sub and sell the dvc G5.

A dual 2 ohm sub would only be able to be wired as a 4 or 1 ohm load. The only way to get either 8 or 2 ohms is with a dual 4 ohm configuration. Use a multimeter on ohms setting to check each coil, you should see approximately 3.6 ohms per coil.

If it is dual 2 ohm then the decal on the fuse holder is incorrect. Either way the two ratings do not jive. Where does it say dual 2 ohm?

That sub is a dual 4, sell it and buy a matching one to the other sub.
