next upgrade - battery or alt?

2 year old (replaced) stock alternator of 102 amps, 2 year old battery (generic batt).

Right now im pushing 300wrms to my speakers and 600wrms to my sub (interfaced by a 1 F cap). Once my type x arrives i'll be pushing 900wrms to it at 2ohms. In another week i'll be pushing roughly 1200 - 1300 on stock batt / alt. Right now my voltage has been dropping severely at idle (down to 10). I'm doing the big 3 upgrade this weekend with 1/0 cable and hopefully that will help the situation. But, for my next electrical upgrade should I look at a 160 / 180 amp alternator or a red / yellow top?

Not looking to do any competitions, just looking to properly support my addiction for music at stop lights lol

Start with the source. Go for the alternater.

i would say the alt...otherwise it would be useless having a big battery
that you can't recharge

Get the alt, upgrade your big three, and grab an optima and you can handle anything. Good investments.
I first had big three, still had dimming (1200wrms). Got Red-Top with oem alt, only dimming while stopped. Got 200A ho alt, no dimming never. :P BUT my A/C still drops rpms and dims lights... Fawking Saturns.

thanks guys - next question. what amperage will suffice? is 160 fine, or should I shoot for a 210 / 220.

I think 200A would be more than enough with the above upgrades (big 3, Red or YellowTop)
