Need configuration help
Hi, Ive recently bought my first car 2003 Jetta GLI, its got the Monsoon audio in it... Im new to car audio, therefore have very limited knowledge, and need help. Would like to invest around 800-1000$ Into my new audio system. What do I need to change? Can I keep the stock deck? would new speakers+sub, and amp. do the trick? thnx...

I would suggest replacing all the speakers, adding a sub. You'll need an amp for speakers and an amp for subs. You'll probably need an interface as well.
That sounds like a lot more than 1000 to me.
My guess is the monsoon has a factory amp/crossover and component speakers. Someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

Do you want it loud (heavy bass for hip hop type music) or do you want it to sound as good as possible.
SQ= Sound Quality
SPL= Sound Pressure Level
SQL= A mix of both of the above
