port placement?

port placement?

so I think I read somewhere (the RF site) that its very good to have the port on the same side as the sub face. however I'm looking at some box plans and it seems that "rule" doesn't really matter. so for say a slot port, or round port, any port really, what is the ideal place to put it? oh, its for sq and spl

well that solves that hahaha.

heres another one. port tubes, better to be in the box or out of the box. outside seems easier, but inside looks nicer. does it make a difference?
