Powa requirements

250 Amp Alt > Optima Red Top w/ 2/0 Big 3 > 1/0 To two amps drawing 1600-1800 RMS combined

Is it even worth the time to install a secondary/audio battery?

i wouldnt say its necessary ESPECIALLY since you have a ho 250amp alt .. i ran over 1600rms for months with a stock small alt and regular battery plus big 3... all was 1/0
it wouldnt HURT to have a second battery though!

Yeah, no competing. SPL is not my style, I like to bang but not in a lane.

The car would be running whenever the system is on.

Wouldn't it bring up the voltage and make it louder (noticeably)? Longer amp life? Have you measured the voltage?

having a secondary battery not only ups the level of your car stereo , it takes the load off your amplifiers allows for less voltage drop and gives your amps a longer life

The alternator is actually not in my possession yet so I can't test what my final voltage will be yet.

But thanks for the replies, if they're even remotely beneficial I'll be using them.
