If its just your amp powering your highs is it possible you have your speakers wired wrong? As in 2 ohm some how? It sound like your deck is shutting off cause if can't handle what the speakers are asking for.

Explain what you mean by cutting out. Do you mean it shuts down, the speakers mute while the sub continues, or that everything goes silent for a moment. If the later, how long is it silent for?

Dependong on who installed it some dingbats still rely on the antenna as the ground and this can cause that problem. Also a shorted speaker, or a speaker with a misalined voice coil can be the culptit depending exactly what the proble is (sound cutting out, or head unit shutting off)

Be more specific.

What cuts out?

Go look at the amp while the system is turned up. Does a red light come on?

You have to put some effort into telling us the problem, but I gaurantee you we can help.
