Simple ground wiring question

my amp to (fuse) to battery wiring is 8 guage and my amp to ground wiring seems to be 10 guage, should I upgrade my ground wiring to improve the bass or does it matter?

Your grounds are more important than your power wires. I'd make it the same size AWG if not larger

My lights are dimming yes, and no punch

1 amp, infinity reference 611a (456w for 1 sub) its running 1 12MTX thundertc 300 rms

my power wire is 8 guage and the ground was 10, went to my local audio shop today and buddy hooked me up sum 8 guage no charge...So its all hooked up now and it sounds way better (on the inside)

My sub was also sitting on my back seat, Ive moved it to the trunk and that most likely changed the sound as well

now only problem is my entire trunk rattles to , and Im talking enuf to turn heads, I want my bass to turn heads not my rattles...I dont really want to dyna mat either, maybe Ill get some foam and try to pin point where they coming from.

how messy is that foam Jalat? How well does it work compared to the likes of b-quiet or Dynamat?

So........

My lights are dimming more than ever now...when the bass hits

What should I do? should I buy a 1f cap?

to recap I'm running a 300 rms MTX sub with 450 rms infinity reference amp, hooked to JVC head unit...its not a huge system or anything..

also running old car, 1987 jetta, havent done the big 3, do i need to with such a small system?

I'm running some battery from Canadian Tire, nothing special, and it hasn't been checked for a long time, once in a while my car has a problem starting, so I'm thinking my battery might be shot...If I do get another battery, would a battery from canadian tire be sufficiant?

Do the big 3, it will help out considerably, especially because the cars factory wiring is 20+ years old. You don't have enough sub power for a cap, don't bother with it, spend the money on the big 3.

so much hassle for such small wattage!

I dont have any extra wire/ any of the thingys that go at the end of the wire, and I'd much rather not do it. if I dont have to, you know where Im coming from?

it will pay off in the long run, period, by upgrading your factory grounds, your stereo equipment will perform better and having larger wire from your Alternator to the battery allows more effective charging for your battery. By doing the big 3 your car will also benefit from it as well, not just the stereo system. So its win win ...................
