Speaker Compatibility. Help.

I have two 10" pheonix gold subwoofers xs104, an alpine v12 amp mrv-100m, and I am looking for a pair of 6x9 pionners, a pair of 5.25 speakers, and a deck. Is there any issues as in 2 way, 3way, 4 way speakers that I should look for or wont work with my amp.

The number of ways in a speaker has nothing to do with how it may sound. The range of frequencies going into a speaker is the same for all speakers (for arguements sake we will leave crossovers out of this discussion). By the looks of the model# of your amp (I need to find a link to it to know for sure), it is a mono amplifier that will be used strictly for your Phoenix subs. This means that your new speakers will be operated off of the power of the cd player that you choose.

Thanks alot for the information. I didnt know the amp was strictly for the subs. Should I get another apm to power the speakers or will it sound alright with the cd player running them.

Ideally I would use a amp to power the speakers. You don't need anything really big though. If you are interested in a quote on new equipment, drop me a PM.
