sub-amp question
which amp would be best for 2 10" infinity REF1052W subs?? and wut kind of enclosure should i put them in??
i'm thinkin of having them in my trunk facing forward right behind the seats. and i would appreciate help with the wiring for them aswell.. thnx -newbie GP kid |
Any mono amp that is designed to operate at 1 ohm would be the ideal type. A good amp for this application is the class D Bassworx 500.1 . The subs would be wired in a parallel circuit, meaning the + on the first coil is attached to the + on the second coil and finally to the + on the amp, the - on the first coil to the - on the second coil and then to the - on the amp. Repeat for the second sub.
As far as a box goes, if you are not going to have one built, a basic sealed box will be the safest bet. A prefab ported box may play louder or may make the subs sound like a$$, it is a crapshoot with most prefab ported boxes. |
thnx mang.. so would a custom ported or a custom sealed box sound better?? and what shape should i have it and how would i ensure that i have sealed it properly??
