sub knocks sometimes

so guys, there was a sub. it plays. it played for the longest time no problem. but yesterday it played for like 10 seconds no problem then slowly the sound started to change and created a knocking noise sometimes, as if it were bottoming out or something. the box hasn't changed, power hasn't changed (from what I know). it repeats that process, especially on notes under sayyyy 47 hz. is that normal or is something broken? I guess something broke but I can't figure out whats wrong with it. help?

Miles, were you perhaps playing some country thru your subs? Did I forget to tell you tfones don't like country music? Lol!!! Check your grounds on your amp, then check your ohms with your dmm, results?

the grounds should be fine but I'll check those again. the impedance should have changed unless a coil is gone, but then it shouldn't play right? oh, Waynold, send me the contact info for that supra guy when you get a chance, might have a new spl car up and running

Check to make sure the spider is still attached to the former and the basket.

a sudden degradation means a sudden failure has happened, it could be a loose wire or something more expensive, you must check everything visually and electrically starting with the woofer
