Ultimate t2-1400 protection :S

Hey. Bought this amp from smartass around Christmas time.

Well, recently I turned the car on after a day trip in wasaga, and heard a thump from both subs (2 x RF Punch P1). I noticed the protection light came on.

My trouble shooting is as follows:
-I have tried replacing fuses;
-tried regrounding main ground (used a complete 4awg wiring kit)
-disconnected both subs and powered up;
-tried each sub individually;
-tried a 4ch amp (works)

So as it stands now, I am stumped. It just gave out. No matter what I do all I get is the blue protection light turned on a few seconds after ignition, and then nothing.

I don't know what to say?
I am going to try running a ground directly from battery to amp to see if that helps, but I don't think that will do any good

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

when reading this, if the 4channel works NOW and the ultimate does not, that usually means that it is blown! Since you got it xmas time, I believe most Ultimates are 1 yr warranty from manufacturer, try contacting Steve as well, Good luck with the problem, I had the same thing happen a few months ago, drving along, and a huge thud from my sub, amp went into protect, and that was all she wrote!

I love your setup, Killer. And yes, I had an Ultimate amp and same thing happened. Only difference was that mine was a T3 series. These things get hot really quick, so if you are going to buy another Ultimate amp, just make sure you invest in aftermarket cooling for its chipset. Hope you find a good replacement.

I had the same problem with my Ultimate T2 1400. I was playin it and everything stopped, i thought it was too hot so i turned it off, but even 1h after i turned it off it was still in protection. I checked the 2 30amps fuses to see if they where blown but once i putted em back they blowed.So i changed fuse and with new ones the amp smoked. Is it cause its a shitty amp or is it because bad grounding or something like that?
