using a factory amp in another make of vehicle
what would it take to make a factory amp work in another vehicle?
would it just be a matter of a wiring diagram?
and/or new connectors?
the application i am looking to do would be to get a factory amp from a high end vehicle and use it to amplify the speakers in my custom motorcyle fairing with an aftermarket hu
it gotta be possible!
a good amp is a good amp!
there must be some good deals at scrap yards from written off lincolns escalades etc!
help!

No such thing as a good stock amp. So with that in mind, it's not worth the effort.
You can buy small amps for $20 or less on ebay or look at a small amp kit from CanaKit http://www.canakit.com/audio-amplifiers
If you have a Harley, you could contact HogTunes. You could try them anyway - they'd probably be able to help. Tell Mike that Dukk referred you http://www.hogtunes.com/

have u ever sat in a lincoln mkt and listened to the sound?
try, u might be impressed
and unlike the old days when factory systems were total crap, its not
like that right across the board these days
my f150 stock set up is actually loud and clear
im no audiophile, thats obvious
but i just wanted to know how you would go about it, and if anyone would know where i could find out...
just thought this would be the place if any, to look

I have the factory amp from a 99 Chrysler LHS you can have for $50.00. It is an Infinity and has 9 separate output channels, built in x-overs, 4 standard inputs. I know this will work for you as I had it running off my aftermarket H/U with no problems. I even have some of the factory speakers too if interested.

And I own an F150. With the factory sub even. It's fine for the wife.
I'm just saying that for the cost, effort, and results, it's not worth pissing around with a factory amp, but I guess if it only has to get louder, not better, then do whatever makes you happy.

ok, scrap that idea then!
what i really need is a small amp to make my four 5.25s
louder, size is a factor, since its going into a motorcycle fairing
power load is another factor, the stator on a bike not gonna give me the juice like a car
any ideas for this?

Many companies used to make a little BTL amplifier. Alpine 3503 comes to mind. Typically 18x2.
Now there are all kinds of small ClassT amps on ebay. I picked one up that had RCA, 1/8" and USB inputs and a sub out even but there are lots of 20watt/channel amps on there. Search Class T amp or TA20* amp. If you don't like ebay, Parts Express sells some small ClassT amps.

So far I've looked at the alpine ktp-445.
And the vibe audio amp. A knockoff of an arc audio amp.
Also a four channel alpine 'mini' amp
I've also seen the t-class amps on eBay n considered those
I have 4 speakers to drive, so might need 2 of those.
There's so many out there and, people say oh this ones no good, get this one.
So who knows which one will work best but not break the bank, either
