Voltage Meter?

Hey guys, so I was thinking of picking up a voltage meter for my car just to keep an eye on my levels while playing my system.

I was wondering if there were any ones you guys recommend? The only one I can find are cheap china ones on ebay (not sure if they are quality) or the stinger one which seems to be fairly popular. Im looking at about $30 for it, any other alternatives that you would recommend?

Also where would be the best place to wire up the voltmeter to get the best readings? I know it would be best to go to the battery? or i seen people hook it up to the alt? I was thinking possibly the 12v from the deck? since Iwant to mount it right below my deck.

I want one to keep an eye on my system, I have a stock 100amp alternator but I think my system is taking more juice than it can replace, since I have 3 amps, ( front rear sub) and I think that may be a bit much on the stock electrical. I was thinking of removing my rear amp and hooking it up to my deck but I havent had time yet. My interior lights do dim quite a bit on bass hits, Ive done the Big 3 minus the alt to +Ve (big 2? lol) so I need to get on that soon. and recently my alternator or in that area has been making some louder noises when I play my music loud so im afraid of frying the alt so I havent really been turning the subs on.

So I was wondering when I get a voltmeter, how low should be voltage go before I should take it easy to let it recharge, I dont compete or anything its just for listening, sometimes I like my bass to hit hard, other times I like it nice and low. But when I like it to hit hard, its usually say after a long day of school , so it will be poudning for a good 30 minutes straight which I think may cause an alt failure if I dont stop it before it happens.

Any input will be greatly appreciated guys ! Thanks
