What are these pots for?? xtant 202m 404m

We picked up a couple xtant amps a while ago, we've been very impressed with the performance and adaptability.

Each side of each channel is gain adjustable. Meaning I can adjust the left and right separately. The picture shows the 4 potentiometers on a 202m.

The bottom 2 are for the left and right gain. The top 2? No idea!!
The xtant manual doesn't even show them there or speak of them:dunno:
There hasn't been any problem with the amps, I'm just wondering what the heck these adjust??

If you open up all kinds of electronics you will find pot's that were adjusted in a factory (likely using a scope), most of the time you will find them sealed with a drop of nail polish, this way they are set and I would think, should not be tampered with...

Unless you think you can properly adjust gain!

They are bias pots... NEVER mess with them, unless you have the equipment to set them properly afterward. If you have DC on your outputs sometimes you can turn them counter clockwise and remove it but it has to be done equally and if you don`t know how to do it properly there is VERY good chance you could damage the output section.

I would leave it alone... what are you trying to do

Here's the PDF manual:dunno:
http://www.xtant.com/archives/html/t...MSeriesMan.pdf

I kinda explains all the adjustments, we use a DMM on the RCAs and the speaker outs to test voltage in/out . A couple math equations and the DMM is all we know about adjusting gain:dunno:
I like to tinker:eyes:lol

The manual practically begs you to do it:cheeky4:

When we were setting up with the new tweeters, we used a DMM to set the amp, and I noticed that the L/R side gain wasn't quite equal.
Since I had read the manual, I knew I had to adjust them. When I opened it, finding the other pots was a mystery I had to solve..lol
I don't plan on adjusting them, just identifying them.
So I'll keep my screwdriver away from them :( lol
