Wiring for 2 DVC alpine SWS15d4 subs

Wiring for 2 DVC alpine SWS15d4 subs
Checked each coil for impendance of 4 ohms -all good here
Bridged each subs Pos and neg coils bringing the impendance down to 2 ohm - again all good here.
last but not least bridged the speakers together which should have dropped the ohm to 1 ohm and my subs stay at 2 ohms. What has gone wrong?
DVC 4ohm subs.
