2*12" Inverted enclosure

Hi, I want to build an inverted enclosure for my Mk3 golf so it will sit 2 feet up and give me my trunk back..

I've never built a box before, so I need some advice with a design and whether to port it or not.

I'm running two 12" Hertz subs which pump 300 RMS each, my AMP (Kenwood X) is very nicely 600RMS.

So Design advice?
How to build a box advice?
and "to port or not to port"

Thank you!

Ok I'm confused. Are you thinking about building a box that stands 2 feet above the trunk floor? Are one of the subs going to be inverted (isobaric enclosure)? What model subs do you have?

let me clarify a bunch.
I have two Hertz 12"
I drive a golf, so I have a divider for my trunk and car.. about two feet up.. I'm going to take the divider out and make my box the divider in theory..
for the box I'm going to have both my subs inverted.
so I need help making an
"bi"-inverted box for 2-12" hertz subs.
Thank you!

Ok are your subs from the Energy, HiEnergy, or Mille line of subs? Hertz makes more than one kind. What are the dimensions of this divider (this will determine the length and width of the box). When you say inverting do you mean have the driver firing into the box, with the basket facing the roof? Or do you mean having the subs firing towards the floor of your trunk from the bottom of the box?

Hertz - Enregy.
I will go measure the divider tomorrow.
by inverted I mean: I believe your first option.. with the magnets of the subs visible to the rest of my car..
I went on to Bassworx and they offer one inverted sub box.. and for 2 12" they suggest 2.8 cu ft of room on the inside.. if that helps..
thanks for the thoughts so far scuba

That box is pretty close. Building a box that is 2.6 ft^3, with two 3" ports that are 12" long, should be tuned around 32hz. This is perfect for your subs. Now it all depends on whether you can squeeze that box in.
