Alpine 12" 1242d Sub enclosure specs

I wanted to build a sealed box for SQ and according to the Alpine site, the most efficient sealed box I could build is 0.85cu ft. And it says that it would play as low as 49Hz, which to me is missing a lot.

I was wondering if it is a good idea to build to alpine spec or should i give up some efficiency for deeper bass? Remember I want SQ, not boominess. Does giving up efficiency simply mean that more power is required to produce the same volume? Would decreasing efficiency or increasing the volume of the box decrease my SQ compared to the suggested box of 0.85cu ft.?

i have mine in a 1.25cube box sealed and it sounds really good. its a temp box till i build my new one, i wanted to see if there was a difference. They are way better ported though. but i would go with 1.25 cubes sealed
