Alpine TypeS, 10" Sealed - Build Pics

I said I'd post the pics of my box build. So here they are. Thanks, Mike (Jalat) for helping me determine what size should work.

I didn't put any sealant inside the box until I got home, twenty minutes ago. Built the box at my mom's man-friend's house, since I don't have any tools yet. Took us about 2.5 hours. His cordless drill's batteries don't last long, so too much of the screws were tightened by hand. Turned out fine. I mean, there's not much to it.

I bought myself a heat-gun to soften up the non-hardening weather-stripping I used. Worked well. I forgot to take a picture of it around the inside of the speaker terminal box... I still need to put a bead of the stuff around the "rim" of the woofer - I don't know what that part is called.

How much would it cost me to fibre-glass the exterior of the box myself? I figure a nice small cube would be an easy project for a first-time fibre-glass job. What are all the materials/supplies I'd need to do a half decent job of it? Where can I find them, Canadian Tire? I'd end up priming, painting, and clear coating to finish it up.

Anyway, enjoy the pics.

LOL. I found some glitter-letters in my fiancee's scrap-booking stuff. I think it adds a nice touch to it, don't you think?

Looks nice!

If you can get access to a router and a round-over bit, you can give the edges a nicer look (IMO) by rounding them over... knocks off the squareness of the edges. Purely cosmetic though.

Looks like you took your time, pre-drilled & countersunk the screw holes - I like the use of the T-Nuts as well.

I'd look up a fibreglass supplier in the Yellow Pages in your area, might be an idea to look under Plastics or Marine supplies as well.
