box with 2 ports?

hey all i am building a box for my 10" sub. i am gonna slot port it.
but i want to have 2 ports one on each side of the sub.

so my question is how do i design the box. is there such a thing of to much sq of port??? i would guess that each port would have to be the same. and is there any advantages of doing this?

Get a boxbuilding program and it will help you determine the length of the ports
go to
www.linearteam.org and download winisd.
Win ISD allows you to adjust the number of ports, & shape of ports to your liking and then tells you how long they need to be and the cubic volume of the box.

If done right, there should be no problems with twin slot ports - just make sure that the box is the right cubic feet - cubic feet nneds to be calculated independant of port volume - the space the ports take up do not work towards the airspace that the sub is working with. Since you are looking at twin slot ports, you will need to consider this as they will likely take up a larger than average amount of port space.

Multiple ports require slightly more length due to the increased friction, than a single port of the same area, and if in doubt, aim for a bit higher frequency.
Otherwise it sometimes looks better.
JL have some in-depth tutorials on the subject of slot ports, wall effect, and multiple ports.
