Box dilemma

Box dilemma
Im having a bit of a dilemma as to where i should go with my sub box. First off im going to be powering only 1 mtx mzs1004 sub with an alpine mrp m350 amp. I just recently built my first subwoofer box ever, and it came out very nice (better quality and looks then my old store bought one). Its a sealed design and I followed the mtx recommendatio of .75 cubic feet.
The thing is, the sub falls on its face when holding a certain frequency for longer periods of time (like hip hop, rap music). Im thinking of selling the one i made, and building a ported one but the thing is the ported one that mtx recomends is too big (almost double the size of sealed, 1.45 cubes) and i need the trunk space. If I added polyfill to my sealed box, would it give me a deeper bass as my volume goes up?
If i were to build a ported one, could i use 1 lb polyfill to a 1 cube box, and then base my port calculations on the new "apparent" size? would this sound the same as a box that is truly 1.45 cubic feet big? thanks for the replies.

Thats 1.45 cubic feet excluding the port displacement and the sub displacement( e.g its 1.45 cubes + the 0.3 cubes or so of port displacement). heres a link to the box dimensions. I built the sealed box which is 12x12x13.5" outside dimensions, and the ported 1 is 13.5x14.25x22, almost double the length.
