Building Box. Few Questions
Going to be building a ported box for my (2) Heritage HRWDC12.
1. The suggested enclosure volume for vented box, is 1.5 cubic ft. Vents being 6'' long and 4'' wide. Lastly, says to tune to 50.09HZ, each spec, per sub/chamber. Each sub will handle 28HZ specified in the manual. Any best suggestions of a different tuning of the box for better SPL, or would best be what is already stated? 2. When taking the cubic ft per chamber, do you take in account the sub or is that added in the suggested enclosure volume? 3. When installing the ports, is there a proper spot to have them mounted? Thanks. |
Sorry.
Found my answer for question 2. " Make sure that you add the volume displaced by the driver, ports and bracing to arrive at a final enclosure volume." |
Personally I wouldn't tune that driver that high in a daily driver system.
If all you want to do is burp test tones, the box specs on the webpage will work. For a more musical sounding unit, try tuning it down around 32hz or so. The 28hz figure is the free air resonance frequency of the driver...... HTH |
Yeah, got it all figured out.
Thanks. |
